Retinoscope: It is a device to preview and examine the retina.

Ophthalmoscope: It is a device used to examine the inside of the eye.

Lens meter: It is a device to measure the correct prescription for eyeglasses.

Slit lamp: This optical source facilitates the medical examination of the structures of the front and rear of the eye, such as the eyelid, the conjunctiva, iris, and the cornea.

Keratometer: It is a device to measure the degree of curvature of the inner surface of the cornea.

Scanning laser polarimetry: It is the polarized light device to measure the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness for diagnoses of glaucoma.

Ultrasound biomicroscopy: It is a high frequency ultrasound for eye examination to provide clear imaging of the interior part of eye.

Eye congestion: It is the tension in the blood vessels of the eye due to inflammation of the arteries on the surface of the eye, or due to blood congestion. This congestion may be caused by excessive stress, lack of oxygen stored in the cornea, malnutrition, and exhaustion.

Entropion: It is the inversion of the eyelid edge to the interior, which leads to friction on the surface of the eyelashes.

Ectropion: It is the inversion of the lower eyelid edge to the outward.

Glaucoma: It is a generic name for a group of eye diseases of the optic nerve. The optic nerve, transfers the information from the eyes to the brain, located in the back of the eye. This nerve problem may lead to loss of vision.

Cataracts: It is the gradual weakness in the amount of thickness of the lens of the eye. It usually affects the elderly.

Eyelid infection / blepharitis: It is an inflammation and infection of the eyelid. It is usually chronic and difficult to treat
and affects the patient’s vision.

Conjunctivitis / pink eye: It is the irritation of the pure membrane that covering the eye. This may occur in one eye or both eyes. It can be transmitted easily from one person to another by direct contact.

Retinal tear and detachment: It is the retinal layer detachment from the choroid layer. Choroid is the layer that provides the retina nutriment. The detachment cutting down the nutrient source may lead to malfunction and blindness.

Diabetic retinopathy: It is the most common complications of diabetes. It occurs when high levels of sugar in the blood cells damage the back of the eye – the retina. If it is not treated, it may lead to blindness.

Corneal disorders: These disorders are known as dystrophies, infections, injuries, refractive errors and llergies

Macular degeneration: It is a disorder that occur due to aging. It may lead to complete blindness.

Albinism: It is a genetic disorder. It causes loss of pigment in many of the problems related to vision such as a decrease in accuracy considered nystagmus, eye squint and increased sensitivity to the light.

Aniridia: It is a congenital condition characterized by the absence of complete or part of the iris.

Amblyopia: It is a condition in which vision axes in both eyes do not meet at the same point. It may appear when looking forward or to the sides and may be permanent state or variable state occur at different times.

Myopia: It is a very common medical condition related to the eye by seeing distant objects hazy, out of focus and seeing the close objects clearly.

Hyperopia: It is a very common medical condition related to the eye, by seeing close objects hazy and out of focus, while seeing the distant objects clearly. In some cases it effects both close and distant visualization.

Astigmatism: It is the irregular curvature in the surface of the cornea or the eye lens. As a result, the optical radiation does not all come to a single focal point on the retina. It is a congenital condition or caused by an illness or injury. It may occur along with nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Anisometropia: It is a condition when the refractive power of the eye not the same or equal.

Lasik: It is a type of laser surgery for excellent visibility without relying on glasses or contact lenses.

PRK: It is the treatment directly on the surface of the cornea, and does not need to make an incision in cornea.

Lasek: It is the reshape of the cornea using a laser beam, which allows the light to enter the eye in order to properly focus in the retina in order to achieve a clearer vision without glasses or contact lenses.

RLE / PRELEX: It is non-laser procedure to correct the eye vision without glasses or contact lens. Especially for patients over 40 years age.

ICR intrastromal corneal ring segments: It is the implanted procedure of corneal ring segments. These rings are made of solid material, installed in the cornea for changes in the shape of the cornea and reduce the convexity.
